MobFather

Quick Tutorial

New to the streets? This guide covers the current MobFather game loop and the major activities available during a round. You do not need to master everything at once—build your crew, earn resources, expand your territory and explore from there.

Your First Moves

1

Meet Your Crew

Your Crew Members drive much of MobFather. Learn their attributes, health and bonus specialty before sending them into jobs.

2

Run Hustles

Spend Energy on jobs that can produce Cash, Notoriety, Training Tokens and Contracts. Hustles are an easy way to start building momentum.

3

Work the Map

Unlock buildings and place healthy Crew Members into them to extort Cash over time. Keep an eye on crew health while they work.

4

Follow Your Quests

Quests give you concrete goals and help drive neighborhood progression. Your advancement requirements are shown on the Quests page.

5

Strengthen the Crew

Use Training Tokens and Bonus Cards to improve Crew Members. Stronger attributes matter across multiple game modes.

6

Branch Out

Use Siege Tokens, Match2 picks, Turf War, Underworld and other activities as they become available. Each offers a different way to grow or compete.

Game Guide

Crew Members & Attributes

Your Crew Members are used throughout MobFather. Each character has Brains, Toughness, Strength, Speed, Agility, Charisma, Instincts and Endurance, along with Health and a specialty/bonus attribute.

Crew strength is not just cosmetic. Different activities use attributes in different ways, so a character who is ideal for one job may not be your best choice for another.

Crew assigned to extort buildings lose 1% Health every 5 minutes. Crew resting outside buildings recover 2% every 5 minutes. A Crew Member must be at full health to begin extorting a building.

Tip: Build a roster instead of relying on one character for everything. Resting and rotating crew keeps more options available.

Hustles, Energy & Training

Hustles are short Crew jobs powered by Energy. Current jobs include Bodega Shake-Down, Courier Sprint and Under the Table Deal. Each currently costs 2 Energy, with rewards varying by job.

  • Bodega Shake-Down can earn Cash and Notoriety.
  • Courier Sprint can earn Cash and has a chance at Training Tokens.
  • Under the Table Deal can earn Contracts and Notoriety.

Training Tokens are used to improve Crew Members. Bonus Cards can also increase Crew attributes and should be used strategically.

Map, Buildings & Extortion

Buildings are a primary source of Cash. Unlock properties on the Map, then assign an eligible Crew Member to begin extorting the building. While stationed there, that Crew Member gradually loses Health.

Your current neighborhood has progression requirements. The game checks building unlocks along with the other requirements shown in Quests before you can advance.

Tip: The strongest Crew Member is not always the one you want tied up in a building. Keep upcoming events and other jobs in mind.

Quests, Neighborhoods & Notoriety

The Quests page shows your active objectives and progression requirements. Advancement can require unlocked buildings, profit, Cash-on-Hand and enough Notoriety.

Notoriety is one of MobFather's major progression and ranking measures and can be earned from several activities. Completed quests can also award rewards and help guide what to do next.

Apartment Siege

Siege is a building assault mode. Starting a breach costs 1 Siege Token. Enemy crews appear in building windows and your job is to clear the active enemies to advance through the building.

Select Crew Members carefully as the rounds become tougher. The interface tracks the current round and awards round rewards as you push upward, with later rounds becoming increasingly dangerous.

Tip: Do not burn a Siege Token casually. Look at the Crew Members you have available before starting the breach.

Turf War

Turf War is a territory event built around buildings, scouting, attacking and Crew fatigue. Buildings begin behind Fog of War, and their layout is scrambled for each player.

You receive 5 Scout Tokens per event. Scouting requires a Crew Member below 50% Fatigue. Attacking uses an Ops Token and requires a Crew Member below 25% Fatigue. A failed attack can leave that Crew Member at 100% Fatigue.

Buildings held by your crew generate Turf War points every 5 minutes. Higher-tier buildings become available as the event progresses, while stationed defenders become more fatigued over time.

Underworld PvP

Underworld is organization-level PvP. Build an inventory of Hit Men, Weapons, Enforcers, Vehicles, Informants, Saboteurs, Lookouts, Associates and Supplies. Together they determine your Empire Power and combat effectiveness.

You can operate against rivals between 25% and 400% of your Empire Power. Scout for intelligence, use Random or Targeted Sabotage to destroy resources, or launch Standard and Heavy attacks. Targeted sabotage can include enemy Saboteurs.

Attack Orders limit the pace of operations. Rival Heat discourages repeatedly hammering one player, Global Heat limits overall activity, and Defensive Pressure increasingly protects a rival receiving concentrated damaging operations.

Underworld has its own detailed HELP / RULES button on the page for the full PvP explanation.
